What's Included in a Deep House Clean? A Room-by-Room Breakdown
A deep house clean goes far beyond what a regular weekly clean covers. Where a standard domestic clean maintains surfaces, a deep clean addresses the build-up that accumulates over weeks or months — inside appliances, behind fixtures, along grout lines, and in corners that rarely get touched.
Here is J&M's room-by-room checklist, subject to the scope and safe access agreed for your booking. Oven and fridge interiors are optional paid work.
Oven and fridge interior cleaning are an optional bundle at £60, adding 1 hour to the schedule. They are not included in the base deep-clean or end-of-tenancy price. The bundle price does not change with your loyalty tier.
Kitchen
- Hob and extractor fan — filters removed and degreased
- Inside all cupboards and drawers — wiped and dried
- Appliance exteriors wiped
- Inside dishwasher — filter, seals, spray arms
- Limescale removal from sink, taps and surrounding tiles
- All worktops, splashback and wall tiles degreased
- Microwave cleaned inside and out
- Floor vacuumed, mopped and dried
Bathroom(s)
- Toilet — bowl, seat, lid, base and surrounding floor
- Bath and shower tray — scum, limescale and discolouration removed
- Shower screen or curtain — limescale and mould treated
- All tiles and grout lines scrubbed
- Taps, showerhead and fixtures descaled and polished
- Sink and basin — limescale, soap residue and stains removed
- Extractor fan cleaned
- Mirrors polished
- Floor vacuumed, mopped and dried
Bedrooms
- All furniture dusted — tops, sides, inside drawers (if accessible)
- Wardrobes wiped inside and out
- Skirting boards, door frames and light switches wiped
- Carpets or hard floors thoroughly vacuumed and mopped
- Underneath beds vacuumed
- Window sills and inside windows cleaned
- Mirrors and glass polished
- Beds made (if linen is provided)
Living Room
- All surfaces dusted — shelves, TV unit, mantlepiece, light fittings
- Skirting boards and door frames wiped
- Sofas and cushions vacuumed (upholstery cleaning available separately)
- Carpets thoroughly vacuumed (or hard floors mopped)
- Window sills and inside windows cleaned
- Mirrors and glass polished
- Remote controls and light switches wiped
Hallway, Stairs & Common Areas
- All floors vacuumed or mopped
- Bannisters and railings wiped
- Light switches and sockets cleaned
- Skirting boards and door frames wiped throughout
- Doors wiped on both sides
- Any storage areas or cupboards wiped inside
What's Not Included in a Standard Deep Clean?
A standard deep clean doesn't typically include:
- Oven and fridge interiors (optional £60 bundle)
- Carpet or upholstery extraction (available as a separate service)
- External window cleaning
- Garden or outdoor areas
- Specialist mould treatment (available separately)
- Laundry or ironing

How Is a Deep Clean Different from a Regular Clean?
How Long Does a Deep Clean Take?
Regular cleaning has a 2-hour minimum. Deep and end-of-tenancy estimates allow 2.5 labour hours per bedroom, with a 3-hour minimum: a 2-bed home allows 5 labour hours and a 3-bed home 7.5. These are total cleaner-hours, not a guaranteed visit duration; two cleaners can share the work. The oven and fridge bundle adds 1 hour to the schedule. We confirm the team, scope and expected visit duration with you.
- 1-bed property: 3 labour hours before add-ons
- 2-bed property: 5 labour hours before add-ons
- 3-bed property: 7.5 labour hours before add-ons
- 4-bed property: 10 labour hours before add-ons
New-customer regular cleaning is £20/hour with a 2-hour minimum. Deep and end-of-tenancy cleaning use £30/hour: 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms start at £90, £150, £225 and £300. Oven and fridge interiors are an optional £60 bundle. These are estimates for the selected scope; any additional work and price must be agreed before it begins.
